Why Sunday Evenings?
We want to reclaim the Sabbath tradition. Let Sunday mornings
truly be a time of rest and peace with family and friends
honoring God. Why does Sunday have to be another day “to get out
of bed and be somewhere” or rush, rush, rush? We need to get rid of
the hectic and the unhappy.
So rest . . . come to church in the evening . . .
Our younger generations have a different clock on the
weekends than does the rest of the world. Their evenings may
begin at 11:00 p.m. and end at 5:00 a.m. Are they going to get
up and go to a 9 or 11 a.m. worship
service? Naaaa.
So sleep in . . . come to church in the evening . . .
We live in a mobile society. People are traveling across
country all the time—and especially on weekends. But Monday
always comes around. People do have to get home and prepare
themselves for that Monday alarm clock. While it’s unlikely that
people will get home on Sunday morning in time for church, a
later service might work into that schedule.
So travel during the morning . . . come to church in the
evening . . .
