Why “Journey”?
The image of “journey” speaks as a powerful reminder that
life takes place for everyone on a road each and every day.
These roads are filled with travelers scurrying down major
thoroughfares while others trudge down beaten paths and
uninhabited trails, one and all making the journey to
destinations that range from the desired to the uncertain to the
unintended. The journey for all is full of obstacles and
pitfalls along with experiences of wonder and joy. We’ve
learned, though, that the journey is so much more meaningful
when we choose to travel with others. Traveling together as the
Body of Christ, committed to the well-being and care of one
another, primed to honor God in all that we do, ready to invite
and include others, prepares us to “value the journey as much as
the destination.” With that in mind, JOURNEY’S name came into
being.
